The craggy heights of the Mountain Zebra National Park’s Bankberg embrace rolling plains and deep valleys, and have become an entrancing preserve for the Cape Mountain Zebra. Other mammals found here include eland, black wildebeest, black rhino, buffalo, red hartebeest and gemsbok, while mountain reedbuck and grey rhebok frequent the higher areas. Cheetah occupies the niche of primary predator. The caravan and campsites with communal ablution facilities are equipped with 220V power points. The camping area is sited on a mixture of earth and grass, as lawn-type grass struggles to grow in the park conditions. Activities include guided game drives, game viewing from own vehicle, long & short nature trails and swimming pool for residents only. The Park also has a restaurant and a shop.

Black Rhino, an endangered species, browes on leaves and branches of shrubs and trees in the Park. Cape Buffalo are non-territorial and very sociable, living in large herds and inhabit exclusive traditional home ranges. Over 300 rare cape mountain zebras are conserved in the Park and graze mostly on the open plains. The Blue Crane uses natural grass and sedge dominated habitats for both nesting and feeding, and the birds are usually found in the park throughout the year. Stanley’s Bustard is shy and wary but this large, strikingly marked, brown and white, black capped bird can be seen at close quarters in the reserve. 12 cheetahs can also be seen roaming in the park.

Kaapse Buffels is nie-territoriaal en kom in groot troppe voor in die afgeslote tradisionele weivelde. Meer as 600 seldsame Kaapse Bergkwaggas word in die Park bewaar en wei meestal op die oop vlaktes. Die Blou Kraanvoël gebruik natuurlike gras en waterbiesiehabitatte vir sowel broei as voedsel. Die voëls word gewoonlik regdeur die jaar in die park aangetref. Jagluiperds wat in die park rondloop kan ook gesien word.

At Carochalet we offer you 10 camping sites on lush grass with power points for tents, motorhomes and caravans. Neat and clean ablution facilities, laundry and scullery equipped with hotplate, kettle and fridge. Fully equipped braai areas. Two 3 bedroom and two 1 bedroom self-catering chalets are fully equipped. The bedrooms are furnished.

We also offer a MIDSTOP facility and allow you to stretch your legs and take out a picnic basket or your take-aways in a comfortable and safe environment between 10h00 and 16h00. Facilities available are clean ablutions, grass, shade, braai areas and swimming pool. Shops and other amenities are within walking distance.

The caravan park has just been transformed into a pleasing and picturesque facility with tennis courts, offering grassed shady camping sites for campers, motor homes and caravans. With electricity points, water points and braai facilities at the campsites. The ablution facility has been upgraded and is kept spotlessly clean at all times and each campsite has its own private ablution with one complete unit catering for the disabled. Willowmore with its interesting cultural heritage and its abundance of bird and animal life is also the gateway to the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area a World heritage site. The caravan park is in a crime free, safe and secure environment. The area offers a pleasant and amiable climate and is the ideal year round holiday destination.
